As part of the work to be able to offer all employees free travel within Skåne in the long term, Softhouse Öresund’s CEO Roland, together with the promoter Ola, has decided to give Skånetrafiken’s summer ticket to all 80 employees.
There has been great interest among our employees to travel more sustainable and we have listened to their wishes and that is why we have been thinking about what this year’s summer present will be. Instead of buying a gadget, we send out Skånetrafiken’s summer ticket in the app to encourage finding public transport, new excursion destinations and a sustainable summer travel. We are doing this experiment now and will measure if it leads to changed travel habits in the long term.
– It is very positive and gratifying that so many of our employees are keen that we travel environmentally friendly and that is why we believe that the summer ticket creates the right conditions for do it. In addition, Skånetrafiken is our customer and it is an important function in our development work to test and use their services continuously, says Roland Ferngård, CEO, Softhouse Consulting Öresund AB.
Ola Persson, who is one of the initiators agrees.
– I am really passionate about showing the opportunities with good public transport and that we at Softhouse should draw our straw to the stack in the transition to a sustainable society. That is why it is very fun that we get the chance to offer our employees the freedom that a summer ticket can give, says Ola Persson, Business Manager for Mobile Ticket Solutions and mobility as a service, Softhouse Consulting Öresund AB.
Ola has since been noted for its drive to go more collectively and to think environmental smart. Among other things, he got a lot of attention in social media when he asked for tips on where his next conference trip with Softhouse could go, without flights.
– We think it is very funny that Softhouse has chosen to take the lead and show other companies that it is possible to think environmentally smart and sustainable. It’s easy to say that you want to live sustainably, but Softhouse really shows with great commitment that they mean what they say. The summer ticket is a good opportunity to start and we at Skånetrafiken naturally hope that this will also lead to more companies following their example with either summer gifts in the form of the summer ticket or 30-day ticket in favor of employees in the fall.

What is the summer ticket
With the summer ticket, employees can travel as much as they want by train and bus throughout Skåne. The summer ticket is valid for one adult and two children, for 60 days – from June 15 to August 16 – and costs SEK 699.
