Qvantel – A reliable development process of the company that can simultaneously deliver delivery-critical systems

In the fast telecom industry, multi-professional and narrowly developed teams are the largest assets a company can have. Qvantel is a successful IT service company that offers custom, cloud-based and business-critical business support systems.

To be relevant in the market, you must challenge existing systems and functions but at the same time continue to deliver because existing customers expect reliable delivery of the projects already underway. Establishing and developing new business is a risky process – especially when the team needs to focus on both its own development and the client’s delivery. Uncertainties include several different areas such as management, recruitment, cost control, methods and processes.

Qvantel therefore turned directly to us at Softhouse as we have for a long time collaborated in southeast Sweden and together we agreed to create a project team of 20-25 people from Softhouse in Karlskrona which are based on existing teams and some new recruits.

“We were in the middle of a very complex process and the time frame was really critical. So one night I called my colleagues at Softhouse and said: Now I need support!” – Liisa Grant, CEO, Qvantel

Teamet is built up in accordance with the customer’s requirements profile and the members represent different areas of expertise. Qvantel had the opportunity to get to know the team and continuously evaluate the work.

Qvantel was very pleased with the result and was interested in buying the business, which consisted of twenty people. The softhouse staff who have specialized skills profiles were offered to assist during the transformation process. Where about half of the selected team has been involved and participated in the first phase. The result is a recruitment platform – including management and support staff for further development of the business. The measure is placed in a newly started company which was then sold to the customer. Throughout the process, deliveries continue without interruption or quality problems.
