At Softhouse, we aim to grow quality. We take great pride in delivery and collegiality. And we love it when we grow with new colleagues by recommendation from Softhousers. In this article, we will get to know Emir – a colleague who proudly presented Softhouse to Igor, who is now our colleague as well.  

Emir Sijercic has been a Softhouser since 2017 and has made an inspiring journey with Softhouse going from QA to a responsive Scrum Master. He is a colleague with agile values close at heart, both at work and in private. Thanks to Emir, we got another great Softhouser to our team – Igor Kraisnik– a Designer with a passion for digital transformation. 

Emir and Igors’ friendship goes back to the late 90’s in the inner city of Sarajevo. They shared the same interest in the music genre and lifestyle – metal/hardcore. 

I was a high school kid and got really hooked on the music, but even more so on the active voice that this music genre had on the society problems. It was loud, rough, and honest. Emir was a few years older and played guitar in the local band Menace to society whom we all looked up to. And that is where the story started, really, – Igor says.

We asked Emir why he recommended Igor to Softhouse he said the following: 

I met Igor for a chat in the city and learned that he had demanding work that required a lot of working hours on weekends. He was unhappy with that and not having enough time with his family. He was struggling with the work-life balance, he told me.

He continues:

At the same time, back at Softhouse, we were starting to work on our initiative to roll out our offer, “Digital Transformation,” one of Igor’s domains of experience. So there and then, I saw that recommending Igor to Softhouse would be a great thing for both parties- a win-win, to be totally honest. 

Not only did Softhouse have a suitable position for Igor, but also a great working environment that respects a person’s private life. Moreover, flexibility in working hours and hybrid work. When Emir told Igor about Softhouse, he applied the next day upon Emir’s recommendation, and the rest is history. 

The Digital Transformation Team

Igor started out in the Softhouse “Digital Transformation team” and is still a part of it. Igor and Emir collaborated together with other team members, from creating offerings and content to the rollout on the market (you can read more about “Digital Transformation” at the end of this article). 

It’s additional value to work with a friend and connect in other environments at work. Not only do Igor and I share the same interest in our free time, but it happens to be that we have a passion for “Digital Transformation,” which is the initiative we have been working on together. 

Emir adds: 

It is also kind of epic to be able to, in between the meetings, connect back to our music interest over a coffee at the office. 

Did Softhouse meet Igor’s expectations?

Igor has been part of Softhouse for over two years and is a highly appreciated colleague and designer by Softhousers and clients. 

Softhouse truly exceeded my expectations. Not only do I get to work with things that I am passionate about. But I also get to work in an environment where new challenges come our way with every new client and never let you fall behind in your skill development. And I love that! 

He adds: 

It is also crucial for me that my work harmonates with my family time. Here I get to work with what I love, go home, and enjoy my family life and my interests. It is also great to have an old friend and work, but not only that. With Softhouse, I have gained new friends. 

Today Igor is a proud Softhouse consultant who thrives working with several different projects and clients and loves to, and we quote, “Jump in to deliver value where our clients need it.” His current assignment is working as a designer for one of Softhouse’s large enterprise clients.
