The software company Softhouse, with approximately 300 employees, established itself in Uppsala a year ago. The current facility is already too small, and the new, larger premises will allow Softhouse to continue growing in Uppsala.

Softhouse has had a good start in Uppsala with about a dozen employees on site and local customers. The new location is much larger and will provide the opportunity to double the operation.

Having to move is a luxury problem if you ask me, says Erik Flodström, consulting manager at Softhouse in Uppsala. In times like these when it’s difficult for many companies to recruit and retain staff, we are of course extremely proud and happy that we have found such a good group and that we have the privilege of having to move to larger premises. Now we can bring in more wonderful colleagues who create opportunities for even closer cooperation with the university and interns.

Establishing in Uppsala also means proximity to the innovative environment surrounding Uppsala University and the potential that exists among the companies in the area.

We are already working with research-based companies in Uppsala and we see the need and benefit where we can contribute, for example where pharmaceuticals meet IT, says Erik Flodström, office manager at Softhouse in Uppsala.

Softhouse currently has approximately 300 employees distributed among operations in ten locations in Sweden, three of which have been added in the past year. In 2022, offices were opened in both university cities of Lund and Uppsala, and with an acquisition in yet another university city, Luleå. The proximity to a high level of competence and interesting technology and research companies are important components of the choice of these locations.

It’s incredibly exciting that we have grown so much and with quality in just a year. I see this as a good testament to our great company culture, says Sara Mårtensson, CEO of Softhouse. Uppsala is a place that has great potential for us as a group where we can make a difference. Our expertise in digital product development and our technical craftsmanship means that we are a strong partner for companies and organizations in the research-intensive industries that exist in Uppsala. Both as a consulting and design company and with our accelerator operation, which invests in and helps software-intensive companies on their growth journey.

Softhouse moved to the new premises in Uppsala in May and the new address is Svartbäcksgatan 8.
