The first generation of Softhouse Trainees in Sarajevo have started their journey with us

Last week at Softhouse Balkans, our first generation of Softhouse Trainees started their journey into getting a good base of becoming IT and organization consultants. In the upcoming three months, six students and young professionals – Nina, Haris, Stoja, Haris, Mehmed, and Denis – will all get a steady ground in the roles of the profession for which they are training – software developer, quality assurance, and social media coordinator.

At their service, they have a team of mentors who guide them through their training – both technical skills as well as soft skills are essential.

“When choosing our trainees, we had a thorough interview process to find the people who have high interest and a mindset that can fit into our Softhouse culture”

”We looked for trainees with a high interest in the field of their future roles, good work ethics, and appreciation for the way we organize our work in an agile manner. With this team of our current trainees we see that we have found a great match,” said Emir Sijerčić and Mirza Curić, two of the Softhouse mentors.

”All our work is organized in an agile manner”

The first week of training included an introduction to Softhouse Way of working, roles and responsibilities, as well as a presentation of the project portfolio. Code quality, training in Scrum and software development life cycle, Continuous delivery pipeline were just some of the topics of the opening week lead by mentors. As all our work is organized in an agile manner, all trainees are going to be a part of already existing Scrum teams and actively participate in the value delivery in the product development.

Moreover, we engaged in dialogues on what makes a good trainee program and agreed it is a reciprocal relationship where at one hand, the company gives the right predispositions and on the other, the trainees know and work towards achieving the expectations set so that together we can continuously deliver value – a win-win for all.

So what do the trainees think of the first week at Softhouse?

“I like that the first week has started with an organized program which has brought us closer in the beginning, both among the trainees and with the whole Softhouse. I also appreciate the team approach to problems, where everybody can contribute with his or her perspective towards solutions. I am glad that I will, besides the technical skills, also develop my communications skills which are highly important in the modern business today.” – Haris Muhibić

”I like that the teamwork is an essential aspect of Softhouse culture and I feel like a member of a proactive and productive family that does their best, so all members are equally engaged and valued“

“After the first week spent here, I already see Softhouse as a very positive experience. I felt well-informed listening to the presentations of our colleagues and have learned many things in these days that are crucial to my future career. I like that the teamwork is an essential aspect of Softhouse culture and I feel like a member of a proactive and productive family that does their best, so all members are equally engaged and valued.“ – Mehmed Đug

”I noticed that all Softhouse employees approached us with an attitude that allowed us to feel comfortable in the company”

“Almost at the very beginning, I noticed that all Softhouse employees approached us with an attitude that allowed us to feel comfortable in the company. The kindness of the collective and the company is what is the most important to me. Then, our mentors – Emir, Admir, and Mirza – constantly encouraged us to express our ideas freely, ask questions; they listened to us carefully and gave us clear and concrete expert answers and tips, shared their experiences that they encountered during the beginnings of their careers, positive and constructive. That gave me enthusiasm, and I look forward to the next days and weeks of practice at Softhouse.” – Nina Mučibabić
