Anniversary Employees at Softhouse: The Heart of Our Success
At Softhouse, everything starts with our people – our most important asset. This is reflected in the loyalty and commitment of the colleagues who have stayed with us for many years.
During 2025, nearly 40 colleagues will celebrate over 10 years at Softhouse. In an industry where people tend to change jobs often, we are especially proud when employees choose to stay and contribute to Softhouse’s growth and culture, year after year.
To highlight this, we published our first article about our anniversary employees earlier this spring. This time, we get to meet Martin, Frida, and Lars, who share their experiences at Softhouse over the years.
You have all been an important part of our journey — and you play an equally important role in our future. Thank you for continuing to choose us at Softhouse!

In November you celebrate 10 years at Softhouse! What have we done right to keep you with us for so long?
Answer: I’ve stayed at Softhouse for ten years thanks to the combination of engaged colleagues, interesting and inspiring assignments, and a positive, easy-going company culture that makes it enjoyable to go to work every day.
If we rewind back to when you started in 2015 – how has Softhouse evolved since then?
Answer: Softhouse has grown a lot since I joined in 2015 — both in number of colleagues and with more offices. What impresses me the most is that the company has managed to preserve the same positive and inclusive culture from the early days, something I truly appreciate.
Enough about Softhouse’s development – what has your personal development journey looked like?
Answer: When I joined Softhouse, I was newly graduated, and I’ve had a fantastic development journey over these ten years. I’ve been able to work broadly and grow in many areas — from building advanced backend systems and working in cloud platforms to developing applications and taking full responsibility for both frontend and backend.
Beyond the technical work, I’ve also grown in other roles, such as participating in recruitment processes, welcoming new colleagues, and being part of customer dialogues and business pitches. This has given me a deeper understanding of both the technical and business perspectives, and has contributed greatly to my development — both professionally and personally.
You’ve surely collected a lot of memories over the years – give us your best Softhouse memory!
Answer: One of my best Softhouse memories is without a doubt the conference trip to Madrid. We had an incredible time together with lots of laughter, great food, and a fantastic atmosphere throughout. The evenings turned into late-night dancing, with sangria on the table and colleagues who truly brought the joy. It was a trip that captured everything I love about Softhouse: the community, the fun, and the wonderful company.

In August you celebrate 11 years at Softhouse! What have we done right to keep you with us for so long?
Answer: One thing I truly appreciate about working here is the opportunity for variety in assignments, combined with the genuine willingness to make changes whenever I have needed it. Whether I’ve needed to grow and try something new, or focus on what I do best and enjoy most, we have always worked together to plan assignments that fit my situation.
If we rewind back to when you started in 2014 – how has Softhouse evolved since then?
Answer: Since the beginning, we’ve grown in terms of the exciting customers we work with, which is both inspiring and fun. We’ve also become better at creating connections between the different offices. For example, I now work closely with colleagues from our Sarajevo office and Milou, which I truly appreciate.
Enough about Softhouse’s development – what has your personal development journey looked like?
Answer: I’ve been able to step into different types of projects across various industries and roles, which has been the most valuable for my development. It has given me the opportunity to fill my toolbox for leading projects and communicating with all kinds of roles and individuals.
This has included everything from release and program management within telecom, project management and testing in the energy and property sectors, the startup of a major multi-year governmental initiative, customer responsibility for local champions and organizations in the public sector, to quick-turnaround support and inhouse deliveries. I’ve also had the chance to get to know new cities when assignments have taken me to other locations. All of it has been valuable in different ways.
You’ve surely collected a lot of memories over the years – give us your best Softhouse memory!
Answer: For me, it’s mostly about the personal encounters with colleagues over the years and the people I’ve met through assignments — in big and small ways. Work makes up a large part of life, and feeling that I’ve been able to meet, collaborate with, and get to know so many fantastic people thanks to that — it all comes together like a big puzzle of great memories.

In January you celebrated 20 years at Softhouse! What have we done right to keep you with us for so long?
Answer: All the skilled, humble, and kind colleagues. The family-like atmosphere at the office. Interesting assignments. The fun trips. A flat organization and a leadership team that listens to your input.
If we rewind back to when you started in 2005 – how has Softhouse evolved since then?
Answer: Above all, we’ve grown. In Karlskrona, we were only 12 people when I started, so you knew everyone. It’s a bit harder now that we’re a larger group of over 60 colleagues. Back then, we only had offices in Malmö and Karlskrona; now we’re in several locations in Sweden and in Sarajevo. We work with many more customers, both large and small across multiple industries. We’ve also become more structured when introducing new employees.
Enough about Softhouse’s development – what has your personal development journey looked like?
Answer: Technically, I’ve seen many different technologies come and go and learned a lot over these years. I’ve worked with many customers and met many people. I’ve learned that system development is so much more than just programming. During these 20 years, I’ve also started a family, which gives new perspectives on what really matters in life.
You’ve surely collected a lot of memories over the years – give us your best Softhouse memory!
Answer: What stands out the most are the memories from the different trips we’ve taken over the years. Everything from nightclub adventures early in the morning in Torremolinos, the Football World Cup in Germany, an amazing run in Scotland — to being kicked off a tram in Sarajevo and receiving a fine because we didn’t realize we were supposed to validate our tickets. I also remember working late at a client site when the bathroom door got stuck. Luckily, I had my phone with me and realized I could call customer service to have security come and let me out.
