One late afternoon in September 1996, Erebus was founded in Malmö by Tord Olsson, Michael Reinholdsson and Staffan Persson, who are still actively working in the company.

From the start, we were focused on delivering world-class software to build winning digital systems. We also worked on projects and product development while having one foot in the methodology.

Erebus changed its name to “Softhouse” and then we created a logo that was meant to symbolize the fact that we are pushing boundaries and being at the forefront of technology. The name Softhouse was coined by Conny Karlsson who still works at the company.

We launched a hot air balloon and flew our customers over Skåne. The dot.com bubble burst with a bang for the outside world, but for us it was our best year so far in Softhouse’s history.

In 2001, we grew by over 80% and had a margin of over 25%.

For the first time, we worked with agile contracts where the customer prioritizes tasks based on business value while we deliver and get paid for capacity and delivery rather than just for hours.

We were named a Gazelle company by Dagens Industri.

We are opening our first office in another location, namely in Karlskrona.

Softhouse reaches “Advanced Level” in IBM partner-world program

Long before the big boom in mobile apps, we delivered “Twin Factor” which was an instant hit. The service launched in more than 25 countries and in Norway alone 300,000 people used the service in the first year.

We launched Scrum in five minutes and it has been translated into four different languages ​​and together they have been downloaded over 100,000 times.

Softhouse is one of the nominees in the “Newcomer of the Year” class at the Mobil Gala, which is being organized for the sixth year in a row in Kista by Mobil magazine and a number of other companies.

We opened our third office, this time in Stockholm.

We won the “Interactive TV Award” in the “Best ITV Service” category with the mobile application of “Facing TV in Cannes”.

Skånetrafiken launched a mobile journey planner that we had developed. It won the “Cut the Wire Award” for best mobile service for the public sector.

We organized our first international conference; Öresund Agile.

We announced that we have entered into a strategic partnership with Finnish/Indian IT company Qvantel.

We came out with our unique Scrum Master Kit.

We won the Global Mobile Awards in the “Best Mobile Advertising” category at the GSMA in Barcelona with the mobile service “Meet yourself in the future”.

We pass 100 million in turnover!

We opened our fourth office in Växjö.

We acquire the Luleå company Neava Technologies AB. The purchase means establishing Softhouse in the northern parts of Sweden.
